Best Cordless Clippers 2018

1234

Hey everyone, Joseph from Rum Barber here. Just filming a little video here at the end of another busy day in December. So, everyone starts doing their end of year 'best of' list and we are no different, and we're going to do this end of year best of the list for cordless Clippers, because that's something that a lot of people have been subscribing to the channel are really interested in. And also there's been a couple of new sets that have come out this year. Now we're also doing this video because a few months back if you remember we did a video when the Babyliss cordless Clippers came out and asking were these the best Clippers that would come out this year. So, we've had a few months now to use them and in that time I went back to using everything else throughout the day, throughout the weeks, throughout the year just to try and get as rounded an opinion as possible about what I think the best Clippers are. And it's not only my opinion as well, everybody else that works in here has been using these Clippers and I've been taking into consideration what they've had to say. So, out of the many pieces of equipment that we've been using in this shop throughout the year we've narrowed it down to five solid sets of Clippers that we've been using throughout the whole year.

Those are, The Babyliss cordless super motors, the Wahl Cordless Senior, the Wahl 1919 anniversaries the Wahl cordless magic clip and finally another non-Wahl product the and is USPro Li. Now you've got these two that have come out this year you've got the Wahl 1919 anniversary clippers and you've got the Babyliss cordless super motor Clippers both of them great Clippers in terms of power and they both look fantastic as well, and with the raising of the bar with things like the power that you get with cordless Clippers and the great look of them the prices seem to be going astronomical. I mean you're looking at nearly £200 for our set of cordless Clippers and while there shouldn't be a problem with paying a premium price for a premium product you have to start wondering at some point do all these price increases mean they are that much better, are they justified charging this much money for a set of cordless Clippers. Now when the cordless seniors came out last year that was when the price increase really kicked in and then you're looking at even bigger increase here and effectively they are the same clipper.

This one's got a nice new fancy throwback body but there's not really much difference at all between them, if you already own the cordless senior's looks-wise aside there's really no need for you to own a set of the anniversary's and yet with the £30 increase in price that you pay for these, they've also made a set Clippers II you can't zero gap without heavily tinkering with them. We made a video that you can go check out if you want to see how it's done but it's not as easy as it would normally be on any other set Clippers. Now having been using both of these for a while they are really good Clippers, they're very, very powerful, battery life on both isn't so great but when you're talking about cordless Clippers you're probably going to be sacrificing battery life for power that's just the way it is if they're not plugged in. Then that's all very well and good at the premium price range but if you come down significantly start talking about these two, you've got your cordless Magic Clips from Wahl and you've got your andis USPro Li.

Now both of these are solid quality Clippers we've been using these in the shop for much longer than a year in fact most of you watching in your shops will have at least one set of these in the shop someone will be using them because they are so well known and there's much they're like a standard clipper that you get everywhere. Both of these Clippers are fantastic for skin fades and you've got better runtimes and you have got with the more premium end. These ones you get 90 minutes off a two hour charge time and you get even better one off the Andis at a two-hour runtime off a 90-minute charge. What you don't get in these you get the more premium end of these cordless Clippers is power. Now I found using these throughout the day the power that you don't have in the Andis one's really shows especially the things like bulk removal.

And but you're going to get that as well even with the Wahl cordless magic clips as good as these are with skin fades they're better than the Andis for bulk removal but you still don't have that kind of consistent power throughout and with the more premium end with the power they stay, they stay at full power until they run out and will by that I mean is they don't slow down as you get towards the end of them they run at full pelt until the battery goes completely whereas when you come down a notch both of these start to were down and start to gradually work their way down until the battery is nearly gone and another issue I have is that with all these cordless Clippers they're all advertising you can use them with the charging cord as well which is fine but with these Andis ones I mean the charging cable is quite flimsy and it doesn't feel all that secure when you're actually using them so I don't know why you would necessarily want to use them on the cable. So, now we're going to talk about the Babyliss cordless super motor Clippers because these are the Clippers maybe ask are these the best cordless Clippers that are out there and to be honest are the ones I've been using the most throughout the year.

Now the reason I've been using these so much is because my workhorse everyday Clippers I use pretty much constantly are the corded version absolutely love these things and so I thought using a cordless version would give me a lot more freedom and it would be as close to using the corded ones as possible but even with these being pretty much identical there are significant drawbacks to using the cordless Clippers now one drawback you would have to these as a noise the corded versions that's fine you can live with that you can talk over that that's not too loud you take the cordless version quite a difference and it's a slightly more grating noise as well now the noise they make is quite a superficial things to pick on but what you can't compare is the power these are not as powerful as the corded version they're just not alright they're never going to be cordless Clippers are never gonna be as powerful as corded Clippers no matter how hard they try no matter how expensive they make them, yes they are powerful though they are powerful for a cordless clipper but it's just not the same as using the corded ones and I have to say as well after several months of use they're perfectly fine right now because I've had them on charge for most of the day but there's a little bit of delay sometimes turning them on they've been about halfway through the day they're not fully done but they don't come on right away and you have to sort of sit there and click at it over and over and then you have to leave them for a few minutes start using the corded ones again then come back to them then they kick back in I don't know if that's something that's happened with wear and tear over time but it's not an issue I have with corded Clippers but when they are working you get two hour runtime from a three hour charge which is a little bit better than the rest of the Clippers in the premium ranges the other annoying thing is is that the charging stand for the broke and it broke fairly early into having them so I haven't been able to charge them and stand them at my station which is annoying if you're finding a good deal of money on these things you want everything that comes with them to be as durable as the Clippers themselves and the other reason I've been using them more than any other cordless Clippers in the shop is that I just love the way the Babyliss stuff looks.

I'm very shallow like that sometimes and there are great-looking set of Clippers so I want to be able to sit them there and have them on display I like the way they look and I can't really because they're not charging when they're there I don't have enough plugs where I am and it's it's not ideal these are all nitpicky things but when you're spending an awful lot of money on these things you tend to get a little nitpicky but I'm going to finish on my favorite thing about them I'm not going to moan you to death that much, the five position adjustable lever on here is absolute dynamite you're no second-guessing yourself trying to figure out if you've got the right measurements or anything it's all there and particularly when it comes to more precise clipper work that is an absolute dream to work with. So now I actually have to decide which ones I like the best because when you say we're going to tell you what we think are the best cordless Clippers of 2018 you have to actually tell people what you think. it's hard to really give a definitive answer though everything like this is subjective if you ask everybody that works in here they're going to give you a different answer from the one I give you if you ask me to do this video in another week's time I might give you a different answer having used all these again for another week and we will, I'll tell you what I think and you might not agree with the answer and that's fine you don't have to and if it really bothers you-you could probably just start your own channel. But yeah so if you take into account everything price value for money performance throughout the day there's really the only ones I can really recommend to you on a general overall one would probably be the cordless magic clips if you only had to have one set of cordless Clippers you could probably do everything you want to with these you for the most part got the power you've got the guards which are really easy to use you've got the really good ability to skin fade with them as well your tapering is going to be really good with them to decent run time they'll work fine on the cord as well as off the cord as well the overall thing is probably going to be your cordless magic clips but that's not to say that they're better than everything else it's difficult to do this but they all have their plus points but I'm talking about if you need one if you can only afford one set you're going to have to go with these that's my honest answer that's what I think the best cordless Clippers out there are this year and like.

I say I don't just have my opinion I have everyone that works in here's opinion and quite frankly I've got your opinion as well if you don't agree with me if you do agree with me if you just want to tell me to shut up that's fine get in the comment section below and tell us what you think about all these Clippers out here most of you out there probably used if not all of these at least two or three of them and you'll have your own informed opinions that you'll be able to share with us and when I said if you want to just tell me to shut up don't actually do that there's enough of that on YouTube you don't need to do any more so I think the cordless magic clips are the best Clippers of the year, cordless ones anyway let's hear what you think thank you very much for watching and we'll see you next time
